Our Top 3 WordPress Plugins of 2022

If you’re not focused on eCommerce, there’s a strong chance that you’re running your site on WordPress. WordPress is packed with tools to help you create a professional-looking site and monitor its performance without being a web guru.

But one of our favorite features of WordPress is the plugins. A WordPress plugin is a piece of software that “plugs into” your WordPress site. Plugins can add new functionality or extend existing functionality on your site, allowing you to create virtually any kind of website.

Plugins can make small tweaks on your site or massive changes, depending on their features. For example, you could us a plugin to add a WhatsApp share button to your site or to create a fully multilingual site.

While many WordPress plugins make changes to the front end of your site, some plugins make changes on the back end so maintenance is easier for your team. But what are some of our favorites?

Yoast SEO

Yoast SEO is a WordPress plugin that offers real-time page analysis to help you optimize your pages’ content, images, titles, meta descriptions, and keywords. You can also use the plugin to tell Google not to index a page, or a set of pages.

It even analyses the readability of your copy; checking the length of your sentences and paragraphs, whether you use transition words or subheadings, if you use passive voice too often, and more.

You can also use Yoast to automate URLs, create readable XML sitemaps, and get finer control over breadcrumbs. Even more good news is that there is both a paid and free version of the plugin, so depending on your budget, there’s an option for you.

WP-Rocket

Unlike Yoast, there is no free version of WP-Rocket, but don’t let that fool you. You get what you paid for when it comes to WP-Rocket.

WP-Rocket is a plugin that allows you to speed up your site without any work on your part. Once you install and configure the plugin, it’s a case of set it and forget it. Page caching is activated straight away and you should get an immediate speed boost to your site as a result.

Plus, because this plugin crawler simulates a visit to a preload the cache, the indexing of your website by search engines is instantly improved.

WP-Rocket makes sure the images on your site are loaded only as your visitors scroll down the page, thus reducing the weight of your HTML, JavaScript and CSS files through minification, both of which should improve your load times further.

Gravity Forms

Businesses that are selling services rather than products often rely on contact form submissions as their gateway to get in contact with potential clients. This plugin allows you to build complex contact forms quickly and with ease, with no technical knowledge required.

A user-friendly editor allows you to select the fields you want to include, configure your options, and then embed the forms on your WordPress site.

It should be no surprise that we aren’t just recommending these plugins for no reason. We use all of these plugins and swear by them. When we create a website, we have all of these things in mind to make sure the website is running as smoothly as possible.
